Internet Reputation Management Primer

June 26, 2008 by admin · 5 Comments

To be perfectly honest, I don’t always visit blogs belonging to every internet marketing guru. However, there are exceptions to the rule, and that include some of my closer friends like Ken McArthur and Simon Leung. Recently, Ken wrote about being attacked on the internet. Well, if Jeremy “ShoeMoney” Schoemaker (who happens to be particularly well known in the affiliate marketing world - I’ve heard of him since 2006) calls someone like Ken a spammer, and John Chow (another 5-figure a month blogger) a “whiner” (tongue in cheek, really - my humble opinion), I think begs a question about what you do if and when someone attacks you online.

Top 10: Internet Marketing Advice For Newbies

Okay - if you are reading this and you are still wondering why I cater to newbies, the point is that any internet marketer who is not actively growing the base of internet marketing students at the newbie level is not really doing the industry a favor. You ought to groom and develop new people who can add value to the rest of the industry, so that’s why this post is coming out.

Of course, alongside other channels, there is a lot more that marketers in general can do in order to reach out to the masses who are clueless or never knew that the internet could be such a cool thing to use as a marketing channel.

Internet Marketing Training Malaysia: First subscriber’s gathering in KL

June 24, 2008 by admin · 4 Comments

Well, I’m glad I made the trip up - it’s the first time I have ever been to my own office in Malaysia (lol). Although this wasn’t any kind of formal training, what we did have was to share new ideas and reinforce old ones. Thankfully, the experienced marketers who had generated results aside from myself and Simon Leung also included Edmund Loh and Vince Tan, both of whom are residing in Malaysia.

The people who were present ranged from complete newbies to those who were widely experienced.

Topics we covered included:

    List building;
    Private Label Rights;
    Public Domain;
    Google Adwords, keyword traffic and quality score;
    Systems and processes;
    Search Engine Optimization;
    Social media;
    Video sites

Of course, we couldn’t cover all of these things or else it would have been a seminar in a box. But I suppose it’s important to keep asking questions (and boy did we have questions!) in order to progress.

Internet Marketing Newbie: Search Engine Optimization Tips For Blogs

There was a question from another subscriber:

I had my blog up,but is there anyway to enable it to be searched on yahoo and google?

This is definitely something most people want to know. Just understand that the process you are looking for is called “indexing”. To be “indexed” by the search engines, you need to be found by the search engines. In order for that to be done, you need to be linked by another website that has been already indexed.

There are other people should link to you!

This is something that everyone should get on board right away. As I test out social media, I realized that the power of Web 2.0 is really in the hands of users and social communities.

If you don’t understand Microblogging, think of it as “Mass SMS/Text Messaging Form Of Blogging”. You literally get people updated the moment you submit a change in your status. This has a few distinct advantages.

Internet Marketing Newbies: Productivity Tools

June 22, 2008 by admin · 1 Comment

In recent months I realized that I was playing a game of hide and seek with my Outlook 2000 email client. It’s a real waste of time when you have to load up Outlook, let it crash, and then wait another 20 minutes for the emails to load up because it crashed.

I then decided that it was about time for me to migrate to a web-based system, which was something I was meaning to do for a very long time, but didn’t really know what to do. So, I ended up using Gmail. Apparently, it has a great spam filter, and I’m just testing things out, and you’ll know the verdict in a while, but I rate it *pass* until proven guilty!

How To Write And Publish A book

June 21, 2008 by admin · 2 Comments

I’m actually an author (I never thought of myself as one) of three books, with another two coming up very soon. I have titles coming up every once in a while and I suppose it’s a good thing, but there are quite a number of personal lessons I’ve learnt having been an author and co-author. I hope to share some of this with you so that you have a clear idea as to how to do this properly.

Lesson #1 - You must always have a publisher’s proposal

Outsource Failure: The Real Reasons

June 21, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

I was just having a chat with my buddy Simon Leung about why some credible internet marketers fail to deliver on their “turnkey” products, even though they received money from their customers and couldn’t produce the goods.

I know a large number of people who are in the “turnkey product” market, and it sells really well. The trouble with this market is simple - few people are able to handle the demand, and they think that they can outsource the entire set of projects to other people easily. That’s probably going to be the last mistake they make!

This post is addressed to all subscribers and past customers.

**For M’Sians**
Oops! I realized that the date is not in the email.

Monday, 23rd. I’m making a quick dash out of the country
so that I can see you guys from Malaysia.

If you are able to make it, just drop me a note via email
with the subject header: “I’m going to be there”.

I’m not expecting a large crowd due to the short-notice,
but Simon and Edmund have been known to give hundreds of
thousands of dollars of value in just a couple of hours
alone.
