Internet Marketing Newbies: A cool way to test niches

July 29, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

Okay - so many people know that there is going to be a low level of certainty when you start a project and attempt to sell it, right? So what should you do?

Well, here are my recommendations.

Firstly, if you are really new, a good way to start is simply use Adsense as a strategy to test your earnings. You can register for Adsense and learn how to use it. But, you should set up several sites to do this. I like Wordpress blogs because the themes can be customized quite easily if you have a good graphic designer. In fact, there are a number of nice copy and paste graphics you can buy now. The first one is Aurelius Tjin’s site. The second one is Semmy Wijayanto’s.

Internet Marketing Newbies: Frustration? Oh Puh-leeze Get Over It…

July 27, 2008 by admin · 3 Comments

This is a rant.

It’s got to do with people’s attitudes, and sometimes makes me wonder why I am nice to people at all. If you’re already an experienced marketer, you’ll probably feel the same way as I do. Don’t get me wrong - I don’t intend to give up unlike some of these people. I am on a mission to educate and empower. If people don’t give themselves a chance to do that for themselves, then I think I’m their best hope (lol).

I can truly empathize with newbies who have a problem technically with the internet. I don’t mind helping these people if they are working toward something.

I just came up with a product that helps newbies get oriented to internet marketing. As we all know, it’s an uphill task to generate revenue if we don’t know what we’re doing. If you are what I call a “super newbie”, you might want to grab a copy of this.

Looks cool huh! Retail price is $19.90, excluding shipping and handling.

Internet Marketing Expert Series: The Genius Of Social Networking

July 25, 2008 by admin · 3 Comments

Okay - now, you guys are really in for a treat.

Recently, I was on a Justin.TV streaming show with Alejandro Reyes, a social marketer. I asked the question “How Do You Make Friends” and since it is a modeling question, I didn’t expect Alejandro to be able to answer that question the way everyone could have received and repackaged in their brain.

In truth, it’s not that difficult to make friends. There are strategies for doing this, and I’ll list a few of them. I’d like to re-organize Alejandro’s answer a bit. He said “be myself, don’t send emails, don’t be annoying, just add value”.

Internet Marketing Strategy: Return On “Trust”?

July 23, 2008 by admin · 1 Comment

Okay, I know, I know - Return on Investment is ROI, and Return on Trust is ROT. It’s an unfortunate name, but it’s beside the point. I really want to focus a lot on the issues that are facing some internet marketing players right now.

I’ve heard tonight from the people who attended my workshop, that there are a few local speakers who have absolutely no idea that they are being mentally marked down by people in the outside world for:
1. Selling to their list only
2. Promoting make money fast programs only
3. Not replying to emails
4. Not giving people a sense of connection (well at least some of the time)
5. Ignoring people

Internet Marketing Newbies: Overcome Procrastination!

July 23, 2008 by admin · 3 Comments

I just thought that I should share this information while you’re still new. many people who have excelled in the area of Internet marketing have probably also wasted half of their time as a result of procrastination.

I do know a number of highly motivated individuals who haven’t fallen prey to this. These people wake up in the morning and have a very clear idea what they need to do for the day. They cannot get distracted, and do not get drawn away by the whims and fancies of something else that happens to be a new flavor. Instead, they are highly driven to get stuff done.

Strategic Internet Marketing: Outsourcing Or Grooming?

July 22, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

I’ve always been a proponent of grooming internal staff to become partners in the context of building an online business. However, it’s a common question that people ask me - what if people leave your organization and the vacuum?

I think most marketers are afraid of revealing what they do and their processes. They are afraid that whatever they outsource will leave them and the cost of that is a loss of time invested in their employees. In truth, my opinion is that if employees want to leave, you can’t stop them. But, if they want to leave because of a relationship problem, then you have more than just an employee vacuum.

Internet Marketing Online: Focusing on the marketing mindset

July 20, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

I admit I make mistakes.
One of the mistakes that I constantly make is I fail to take every single opportunity to sell. This, my friends, is the key to the marketing mindset. You need to ask yourself how people actually sell and what makes people buy.

I’m writing this realization from G-Hotel (they have a lounge called “G-Spot” just fyi) where I stayed over the last couple of days while preparing to speak about The Hero’s Journey to 4,500+ insurance professionals from Prudential in the PruOlympics event, which in my opinion was very well done and absolutely astonishing in terms of numbers. Sitting in the lounge, I order a glass of wine, but I know that this is a preference of mine - Merlot - and without thinking, I don’t select any other kind of wine.

Internet Marketing Growth Plans

July 13, 2008 by admin · 1 Comment

To be an effective internet marketer, you have to plan for growth. Here’s my observations.

#1 - Always have multiple products.
This is particularly so if you are purely an affiliate marketer. If you own your own products, you have to be aware that these products have a lifespan, so you have to be prepared to create more, or relaunch them in order to create a better growth plan.

Product launches are cashflow infusion. But affiliate marketing is steady growing regular income, especially if you have the proper flow of traffic there.
