Internet Marketing Newbies: A cool way to test niches

July 29, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

Okay - so many people know that there is going to be a low level of certainty when you start a project and attempt to sell it, right? So what should you do?

Well, here are my recommendations.

Firstly, if you are really new, a good way to start is simply use Adsense as a strategy to test your earnings. You can register for Adsense and learn how to use it. But, you should set up several sites to do this. I like Wordpress blogs because the themes can be customized quite easily if you have a good graphic designer. In fact, there are a number of nice copy and paste graphics you can buy now. The first one is Aurelius Tjin’s site. The second one is Semmy Wijayanto’s.

Becoming A $25k Paid Speaker? Gimme A Break…

July 9, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

Okay, this is probably going to sound like a rant… because it IS!

A lot of hype is out there teaching people how to make money by speaking at a rate of $2,500 to $25,000 an hour, or even two hours. Trust me, unless you are uber branded, you can forget about this because it’s not gonna make sense.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t do it. I’m suggesting that it’s important for you to focus on great value, and naturally people will want to pay you more over time. Chalk up your air time and you’ll find yourself being hired for much more than you could make in any other kind of job.

Virtual Real Estate Conversations With Mark Ress, VRE Maven

It’s pretty bad when telephone recording systems screw up. It’s worse when it happens TWICE in a row. SIGH.

I actually had an AWESOME interview with Mark Ress, and I’m making up for the lack of a proper recording with a massive review and report here. The man is passionate, filled up with extremely high energy, and I wish I could exemplify the focus and sheer energy he had in the teleinterview in words!

Internet Marketing Expert Series: How To Build Loyal Readership?

July 3, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

I read Lynn Terry’s email marketing article after she noticed a number of people unsubscribing from mailing lists. It’s obvious that there are many people who are joining and leaving email lists, particularly those from internet marketing lists. There’s too much of the same old stuff. At the end, most internet marketers are going to forget about building a loyal following. Some even stop mailing thinking that they will not lose people.

Wrong.

You have got to ensure that you keep mailing people. Every single time you mail, you will expect an opt-out rate. But as long as you are there to maintain the relationship with your users, you will end up seeing less opt-outs.

“Will Work For Fun”:Who Is Alan R. Bechtold?

June 16, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

I suppose you didn’t think that your work could be fun.
I mean, some of you are actually doing Adwords, article marketing, videos, podcasts… I mean - the whole works could get you into a lot of stress and burnout, couldn’t it?

I was at the Internet Superstars Conference in Baltimore recently, and I listened to Alan Bechtold (whose presentation I missed in JVAlert Live in Philadelphia) about how to bring out the “you” that’s going to be recognized by people all over the internet. Let’s just say that it got me thinking about my own brand.

Alan’s new book, “Will Work For Fun” also exemplifies what I do daily. At the Internet Marketing Academy, have fun, discuss new ideas, create trouble for ourselves but end up finding new and interesting solutions to the marketing game. Is this something you would enjoy?

Well, of course. But the point is that every moment you are online, if you are chasing the dollar, you’re going to end up pretty darned broke. If you have no passion in what you do other than the desire to make money, you are going to end up alienating your customers — because they want solutions. They want their providers to be accessible. How do you do that?

I’d recommend you take a look at Alan’s book. It gives a great overview of the idea of retiring simply because you are already enjoying your work. Alan gives an insightful series of ideas to search through niches and explore different ways to have a business out of fun. Plus… it doesn’t hurt to have the knowledge come from someone who has been on the internet… like, forever! Definitely someone whom you want to have on your side in terms of knowledge.

– Added After I Finished Reading It In Full –

I realized how artful Alan is in his writing. It’s entertaining, it’s in his original voice, and it’s compelling as a build-up to his core — forming the fundamental you! This is going to be a great resource for me as a writer as well… after all, modeling the writing process is one of the things on the top of my mind at the moment. Alan’s artistry in writing his book brings readers like myself straight into a conversation, something that will definitely help you ease into reading the book well. I read it in 3 straight hours and I wasn’t even using my accelerated reading techniques! I love the sections on product creation as a publisher, not a writer. And trust me — there are a ton of people out there who hate writing, but don’t mind being publishers!

Blogging Tips: Re-using content from the web

An article on Problogger.net got me thinking about the use of reprint rights articles on the internet. Should they be used on a blog or not?

Well, in addition to what Darren says, I am tempted to believe that there are some cases for the use of reprint rights articles. Sure, there is the issue of duplicated content. However, not all articles are duplicated, and some sites actually have benefited from the republished content.

I think the keys are as such:
#1 - Use other people’s content if you have no other content.

Newbies: How To Generate Startup Capital

May 30, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

I received feedback from one of my readers who says that I’d tend to assume that everyone knows what they’re doing. Well, in reality, it’s not that I assume anything, it’s just that I write whatever it is that happens to be on my mind or whatever someone else suggests that I write.

But while that is true, one thing that does about this particular reader which in my opinion is also something that box most of my other readers is that there’s very little space for people who are currently working and presently in a very busy job to be able to get on the Internet and to be able to raise startup capital to run a business.

How to succeed with affiliate marketing

May 29, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

I recently read a really crappy article on how to “succeed” with affiliate marketing. In all of its 400 meager words, it said nothing about how to succeed at all. This, in my opinion, is a sign of all times: lousy articles being submitted to article directories, and even if you are a human edit article directly with generally good reputation and great content, there will be a couple of these stupid articles that get past you.

I’m not sure if this is the first time you have come across this very nifty blog monetization tool. it already contains a large number of niche information products. Many of them are 100% commission based if you upgrade to gold membership. If you stick with silver membership, it still owes you a hefty 50% commission on any of the products that are purchased for your site. To register for this really cool tool, I’d suggest you head down to http://MyNicheWidget.com and start building your widgets for your niche blogs.
